Certificates make ALLVAC quality transparent

Production cannot do without quality standards in accordance with certificates representing important purchase criteria, especially for ALLVAC customers. Over the years, we have acquired several essential certificates which attest to our high level of consistent quality in production.

The statutes of the plastics processing industry and a lively sustainability policy are particularly compelling to us.

ALLVAC can refer to the following certificates:

BRC – global standard for food packaging

ALLVAC meets all hygiene criteria of the BRC certification. The certificate, in which we have achieved the highest classification, applies to the production of packaging suitable for food while attesting the safety of materials such as our barrier films. Background of the certificate: The British Retail Consortium (BRC) defines the standards for suppliers of packaging materials for food, which have been bindingly set by several retail chains.

The BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials applies both to our composite film manufacture and the bag production of our sister company ALLFO. This enables our company group to refer to a production process that has been fully tested and certified. These standards are particularly relevant for the food industry and required by numerous manufacturers and retailers.

ISO 5001 – Energy efficiency reflects sustainability

This certificate is dedicated to energy efficiency in the production of PA/PE barrier films with the main objective to support companies in improving their energy efficiency as well. Hereby, unused potentials can be identified, energy costs are cut and greenhouse gas emissions as well as other environmental impacts of energy consumption will be reduced.

The awarded certificate proves that ALLVAC has been able to reduce its energy consumption by more than 20 percent. This has not only been achieved by the management’s appropriate orientation of the company but also by the employees’ commitment to fulfill the requirements of modern energy management – which has demonstrably led to success.

IK Initiative Zero Pellet Loss

We are participating in the IK Initiative Zero Pellet Loss, an initiative of the Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V. which integrates our employees directly into the topic of material efficiency. Sensitised by the initiative, they systematically identify the areas where spilt plastic pellets could be released into the environment. Jointly we draw up action plans, train employees and instruct suppliers in order to make a significant contribution to the protection of water from plastics. Furthermore, with regard to other aspects of sustainability, it is advantageous that the managing director of ALLVAC, Dr Andreas Gasse, holds the position of Chairman of the IK Environment and Sustainability Committee.

Do you have any questions in regards to our certificates? We are looking forward to your call or your mail.

We adhere to the GKV Code of Conduct

With this certificate, ALLVAC proves that it has committed itself consistently to the Code of Conduct of the Central Federation of the Plastics Processing Industries (Gesamtverband Kunststoff verarbeitende Industrie – GfK). This association commits itself to the necessity of demanding compliance with legal regulations and, in particular, ethical standards from its members by means of conduct and by adhering to it, we strengthen our customers’ and suppliers’ confidence as their business partner of choice, ensured not least by our transparent business processes. The code is tailored to the requirements of plastics processing companies.

We are halal-certified

What does "Halal" mean? The term comes from the Arabic and means something like "permitted". It is very important to believing Muslims that they can see exactly whether a food product has been produced in a Halal-compliant way, i.e. whether it is permitted for them. This also includes the packaging that we produce. Through the certification we have received, we can prove that we do not use any substances that are hazardous to health or alcohol during the production process.

We are koscher-certified

What does "kosher" mean? The term means "appropriate" in Hebrew. The inspection and monitoring of food production facilities as well as packaging methods are all part of the kosher certification process. The certification body has ensured at allvac that the substances, machines, processes etc. used comply with the rules.

Our BRC Global Standard certification ensures food safety

As manufacturer of high-quality barrier films, we deliver our products all over the world. It goes without saying that we comply with international standards accordingly. Our films are certified BRC Global Standard, the highest safety level for the food industry. ALLVAC fulfils all hygiene criteria of the BRC Global Standard. The internationally recognised certification was initiated by the “Brand Reputation through Compliance” (BRC) and defines the requirements for food safety. The standard is aimed at food manufacturers who primarily produce goods for the British market, but also for parts of Asia or the USA.

BRC Global Standard for Food Safety

Firstly, this concerns the manufacturers directly, i.e. slaughterhouses, butcheries or other producers of industrially manufactured food, but also manufacturers of finished products as well as processing companies that package open foodstuffs. The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety certification is intended to ensure quality and safety throughout the supply chain. And for our customers, this certification is crucial to their success. Under these aspects you are certainly on the safe side when choosing our films.

ALLVAC is ISO 50001 certified and pursues systematic energy management

Due to the fact that the production of ALLVAC’s barrier films is particularly energy-intensive, we place great emphasis on efficiency in our processes. Using ISO 50001, we were able to establish a comprehensive management system. The worldwide valid standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) supports organizations and companies in creating systematic energy management. In principle, the introduction of an energy management system is voluntary; there is no legal obligation to obtain certification. In tandem with increased energy efficiency, the aim is to reduce CO2 emissions and other environmental impacts, whereby the energy management system contributes significantly to environmental and climate protection.

ISO 50001 – systematically energy efficient

Systematic energy management initially records the energy flows in a company (energy sources, energy use, energy consumers) and evaluates the status of energy efficiency, in particular with regard to facilities and production processes. This will provide the basis for technical improvements as well as an optimization of strategic and organizational management. The purpose of ISO 50001 is to systematically improve energy-related performance in the long term. Within the framework of ISO 50001, we compile and analyse statistics on electricity consumption as part of our monthly energy monitoring. In doing so, we focus on individual energy flows of our main consumers and can thereby systematically identify alterations, react to them in a targeted manner and implement optimizations.

Zero Pellet Loss is an essential objective of ours

ALLVAC is committed to the Zero Pellet Loss Initiative of the Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen (IK). Sensitised by the initiative, we systematically identify the areas where plastic pellets used for the production of barrier films may be released into the environment. We jointly draw up measures and plans of action, train our employees and instruct our suppliers. By taking these steps, we intend to make a contribution against the pollution of water by plastics, given that we are very serious about plastic waste, especially concerning the world’s oceans.

An initiative that is consistently implemented

We are actively helping to avoid microplastics turning into “marine litter” by utilising our state-of-the-art production facilities at our new company site in Waltenhofen. Marine litter affects many animal species. At the same time, it also wastes resources that could be used for new products or to generate energy. Accordingly, under the premise of the Zero Pellet Loss Initiative, we at ALLVAC consistently ensure that raw materials are not wasted unnecessarily as a result of being dispersed in the production chain due to advanced filling of the machines. Pellets are delivered in silos and transported directly to the machines via a sophisticated pipeline system. In addition, we rigorously comply with modern recycling management.

Zero Pellet Loss also provides for occupational safety

Zero Pellet Loss not only benefits the environment. Our employees also share in the advantages, as occupational safety is increased. After all, spilt pellets or granulates may cause accidents due to slipping. Apart from this, Zero Pellet Loss is economically sustainable, as it prevents the waste of valuable raw materials. We also support the Fraunhofer Institute in its research work on another project that investigates the effects of microplastics in the aquatic environment. Instead of keeping our knowledge to ourselves, we share it by regularly hosting lectures and getting involved in academic studies. Internships and the opportunity to write bachelor’s and master’s theses at ALLVAC enable students to gain first-hand experience.
Do you have questions about our commitment to the Zero Pellet Loss Initiative? If so, we look forward to your call or your mail.
