Optimum protection for beef and sausage products, fresh pasta, convenience products, but also baked rolls and the like. allflex E scores with a wide range of applications and high barrier values. The 11-layer film from allvac Folien GmbH, based in Waltenhofen (Bavaria), offers a unique combination of flexibility, aroma protection and durability. With its EVOH high barrier, it even extends the best-before date of the packaged food.
"Our allflex E is always used when sensitive and perishable foods need to be packaged safely or when there are high demands on the shelf life of the packaged products. Our allflex E really comes into its own when packaging beef or baked goods," explains Dr. Andreas S. Gasse, Managing Director of allvac Folien GmbH.
High barrier film
The allflex E is a co-extruded 11-layer film with a special design made of polyamide (PA) and polyethylene (PE) with an EVOH high barrier. Its PA and PE base ensures high puncture resistance. The EVOH high barrier protects the food from drying out and at the same time prevents oxygen or moisture from penetrating. This means that allflex E gives germs, bacteria and mold no chance.
"The packaging of baked goods, for example, cannot do without a high barrier because there is always residual moisture in the bread rolls or baguettes. Without a high-barrier film like our allflex E, mould would be inevitable," emphasizes Thomas Herbst, Sales Manager at allvac.
Extended best-before date
Thanks to its high barrier properties, allflex E preserves the aroma and taste of the packaged food and ensures a long shelf life. The 11-layer high-barrier film can even be used to extend the best-before date. "Of course, this doesn't go on indefinitely, but we achieve very good results with our allflex E on a product-specific and customized basis," adds Thomas Herbst.
Another plus point for shelf life: the allflex E tolerates temperatures of up to 100 °C as standard, for up to four hours. This means that food packaged in the film can be pasteurized without any problems, for example.
Broad portfolio for a wide range of applications
The allflex E is available in thicknesses of 50 to 300 μ and scores points in all variants with first-class processability and equally good skin sealing properties with full-surface sealing. Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) is also possible with the thermoforming film, which is particularly suitable for packaging sausage products. On request, allvac can produce the EVOH high-barrier film with an anti-fog or peelable surface. Individual printing and various color options are also possible.
